You can use the Name Manager function to define the names for cell ranges, functions, constants, or tables in the workbook. For example, you can add the ACCCODE and AREA definitions in the input and report templates.
1.Click Name Manager.
2.To add a new name, click New. The New Name dialogue box opens.
3.In the Name field, type a name for the reference.
Note! Due to the support for an increased number of rows and columns in the .xlsx format, some names are invalid for areas. For example TO1 is a valid cell reference in the .xlsx format and therefore invalid as a name for an area.
4.From the Scope drop-down list, select the scope for the area: workbook or a tab. Note that this setting cannot be changed after saving.
5.In the Refers to field, type the reference (for example, ='12 periods input'!$O$3:$O$3). The area that was selected on the template when you clicked Name Manager is shown by default in this field.
6.Click OK.
7.In the Refers to field of the Name Manager dialogue box, you can check the validity of the reference and edit it:
•To check the validity of the reference, click .
•To reset the value, click .
Note! To check the area that a name refers to, select the name in the list in the Name Manager dialogue box and click in the Refers to field. The cells of the area are highlighted in the workbook.
8.When finished, click Close.
To edit an existing name, click Edit in the Name Manager dialogue box.
To delete a name, click Delete in the Name Manager dialogue box.
