Creating User Interfaces for User Roles

The tasks to which users have access in the application user interface depend on their user roles. User rights are assigned to user roles, through which the users receive them.

User roles have rights to user interface "blocks" (UI blocks) which are collections of tasks. Note that a user may have several roles, and the user interfaces of those roles will then be combined to create the user's task list in the user interface (for example, management tasks added for an administrative user role and input tasks of an input user role).

UI blocks are assigned to roles in the User Role UI management view (task ID: UserRoleUIBlockMnt).

On the User Role UI management screen, you can:

add UI blocks to a role’s user interface

delete UI blocks from a role’s user interface

modify the order in which UI blocks appear on a role’s user interface

modify names and icons of tasks of a role’s user interface

modify task parameters of a role’s user interface
