New Features and Other Improvements
New document series for proportional consolidation
Feature ID: CPD-13
The following changes have been implemented to FAS/IFRS Packages:
- New document series of type 31 have been added for automatic entries for proportional consolidation. The series of type 3 three will continue to serve as target series for minority (non-controlling interest) entries.
- The new document series have been also set as target series for series of type 1, thus getting into use the new FPM functionality of create proportional consolidation entries to them.
- In parameters and in all relevant template settings the new document series are added to company documents.
The template settings assume that the new document series connections have been added and in unit settings the following principle is followed: separate unit entries get the unit itself as counter unit (elimination entries have another counter unit).
The changes do change how some reports are used: e.g. in cash flow statement by unit, column for proportionally consolidate units now should reconcile, previously e.g. in case of acquisition the statement reconciled only in consolidated level where also elimination series are included.
Clausion FPM is planned in the principle that data in all existing periods corresponds always the existing calculation rules. If this is not followed (re-calculations not done when rules change), special attention is needed relating to amounts in previous version, and how to reconcile continuity from previous year(s). Note to plan the update properly with the customer: it is recommended to update first the test environment, and only after approval update production environment.
In case all the data in the environment is not re-calculated to meet the changed settings, it might be useful to reserve copy of previous version templates for reporting data of such periods (note also relating changes in global parameters). Also keep in mind the counter unit settings for consolidation entries, that are followed in allocation to units.
