Introduction

This release document includes information about several Clausion Cloud and Clausion FPM monthly releases after the latest general availability release FPM 20.3.1.

New Features

Reservation management behind parameter

Feature ID: FPS-10343

A new environment parameter InputReservationManagement has been implemented. The administrator can set the parameter value to 'true' or 'false'. If the parameter value is set to 'false', no warnings appear when the same template is opened by different users or different templates are opened with same selections by different users. Also, users can save the changes.

If the parameter value is set to 'true', reservations work and warnings appear when the same template are opened by different users or different templates are opened with same selections. Also entries appear in the Reservations management view, and the administrator can delete them manually. Closing of the template also deletes the reservation.

By default, the parameter value is set to 'false'.

Clausion FPM Web Client: Search for templates (custom, input and report)

Feature ID: FPS-9464

When a template is opened in FPM Web Client, the user can now search from the template content. Use Ctrl+F to open the search dialogue box.

Clausion FPM Web Client: New features in templates in FPM Web Client

Feature ID: FPS-8846

In a template opened in the FPM Web Client the graphs defined in Excel are now shown. Note that the graph will be visible only when moving the pointer over the navigation bar. In addition, it has been noted that the waterfall graph is not supported in the Web Client spreadsheet component.

Also, cell data validation drop-down functionality now shows in web templates.

User interface management: List available datatypes in task selections

Feature ID: FPS-4622

It is now possible to restrict the datatypes available for end user in task selections

  1. New datatype list option has been implemented for data type component in user interface task settings.
  2. Only the datatypes listed in task settings are available in the tasks selection screens in Data type drop-down list in Clausion FPM Web Client and Desktop Client.

Other Improvements

Example templates mentioned in user guidance added to the Clausion FPM system

Feature ID: FPS-11457

Example templates, that are described in the renewed user guidance for template management, are now available in each FPM environment. UI definitions also exist, all included in the Examples UI block (block name: Example Templates). The folder name shown in the navigation (root folder of the block) is Example Input and Report Templates.

The new UI block is not automatically attached to any role. Attach it using User Role UI task, if you wish to self-study template management using these examples. Note that the templates include defined account, dimension, and unit codes, and thus most likely modification is needed in your environment before they may be opened. More information is found in administrator's guidance.

Maintaining period start and end dates to Clausion FPM default tasks and Clausion FPM Package yearly tasks to separate UI blocks

Feature ID: FPS-11226

Package yearly tasks included opening balance and cash flow opening document tasks. These were added in Package update that previously was done immediately after Clausion FPM update. Now that the updates no longer are forced together this structure is changed to avoid package tasks from disappearing in FPM update. These package tasks are moved to separate package specific blocks.

Also the task for maintaining period start and end dates is now part of default Clausion FPM tasks.

A separate package task for "Input Data Calculation, All Documents" have also been removed. In the future, the document series for the basic FPM task of calculating the input data are by default from the data of the global parameter (ALLDOCS). It is recommended to add list of all document series in the environment as value of the new parameter, thus getting all series calculated by default. List of package series is included in Package release material, and can be copied from there in phase when parameters are updated.

Layout and formatting improvements of default templates

Feature ID: FPS-10827

Colouring of the default templates has been renewed to lighter than earlier. In many places, the colour has been removed from the title rows. There are no longer differences in the colours between the input and report templates.

At the same time, in the Excel files other formattings that have no essential or any effect on the functionality of the templates, have been changed. For example:

  • Datatypeusage data and utilizing the data have been enhanced on the Changes in Non-Current Assets and Continuity Check (FAS) and Consolidated Financial Statement (FAS) reports
  • Formattings of single cells have been changed to conditional formatting on the Package default templates:
    • Fixed value in the datatypeusage column on the title rows, whereupon the same formatting applies as for the sum levels
    • In the FAS templates, datatypeusage="not in use" in use to format "only IFRS" account rows. Because of this, in the Clausion IFRS the FAS template has no special formatting for these.
  • Excel files of the templates where columns are added by generation (e.g. units), no longer include several formatted columns, because the latest FPM version copies formatting to the generated columns.

Clausion FPM Web Client: Color theme renewed

Feature ID: FPS-10373

Clausion FPM Web Client color theme has been renewed, and some minor styling has been updated (for example, button corners and tooltips).

User Interface Management enhancements

Feature ID: FPS-4615

In user interface management functionality in the Clausion FPM Desktop Client it is now possible to:

  • Move tasks from one folder to another within one UI block
  • Copy a "Task" item as a new within one UI Block

Row sets for retrievefromdata report templates: Conditional row set logical implementation

Feature ID: FPS-4040

Conditional row set can be used in retrievefromdata type report templates. For example, it is possible to use an Excel formula to validate if the rows are visible with certain row set selection.

For example, in a reconciliation report, user may show all the reconciliation differences that are bigger than a certain tolerance value that the administrator has defined.

Do the following when adding row set definitions and formula to Excel definition file of the template:

  • Add row set names right after (to the right from) the ACCCODE cell. (same as in predefined templates)
  • Add the formula to define if X is the value (means row included in the row set) to the row set column below the row set name
    • Note that the formula must start with '=' to work as expected.
  • Copy the formula to all rows that might have data in the opened template. If data is brought to more rows, the rowset filtering does not work on rows where the formula does not exist in Excel (the template opening does not copy the formula to all data rows)

Note: The ACCCODE naming in the template must follow the order of the sheets; ACCCCODE1 in first sheet, ACCCODE2 in second sheet etc. The naming has been corrected in the following default templates: BW_RT103, BW_RT105, BW_IT501 and BW_IT601. Note also, that the latter two are input templates, where the new rowset functionality does not apply.

XBRL UI example available in user interface management

Feature ID: FPS-3139

The option "XBRL report" is now available in User Interface Management in Clausion FPM Desktop Client, when the parameter element is selected, and no tree exists under it (previously implemented functionality).

Note that using this task requires XBRL licence.

Clausion DR: Replacing formulas with values

Feature ID: FPS-2580

Clausion DR for FPM users often share DR report files with other users who do not have access to Clausion FPM or DR. When a non-DR user receives the Excel file, Excel usually converts the DR formulas with hash values. Also, if a non-DR user tries to open the Excel file and edits anything, for example, opens hidden rows, all values are converted to hash values. In this case the DR user must replace DR formulas manually with values before sharing the Excel file to a non-DR user, which takes some time and is not fast enough. In addition, there is a possibility that a user may save changes and thus by accident remove all the formulas.

Now a functionality has been implemented, which enables the DR user to create a copy of the existing Excel file with the same data in the file but without any formulas. When the user clicks the "Create Static Copy" button on the DR tab, it creates and opens a new Excel workbook with all the existing data and removes all formulas (for example, DR formula and any Excel formula). The user can save the newly created Excel workbook and also share it to a non-DR user.

Corrected Known Issues

Issue

Description

FPS-11791

Performance has decreased if the report has a unit amount column setting

For releases FPM 20.3.1 /20.3.1.4, performance was decreased with report having setting numeric amount="unit", i.e., datafield with type - numeric, numeric amount="unit" period="%PERIOD REPRESENTATION%".

With these settings there were lots of unnecessary hits from the desktop client to the application server related for verifying possible changes for currency rates. Due to this, force refresh of the service related to currency rates occurred in repetitive manner. This was identified for a user having a very low network bandwidth.

Now this issue has been resolved with eliminating extra unnecessary repetitive service calls.

FPS-11778

IDT: Replace target data does not remove data from DATAREPORT table

Previously, when data was transferred from unit to another by using the "Conversion on internal data transfer" function, and "Replace target data" for converted dimension is checked, the data on unit which was converted was not removed from the DATAREPORT table. IDC for the source unit was not executing in the IDT process. Now, when running the IDC for source unit, data should be synchronized.

FPS-11726

Clausion FPM Web Client: Zero should be visible instead of empty

Now when user enters zero as value into an input cell, the 0 shows in the cell. Previously the cell was empty, and any formula in the template referring to the cell was broken (error value shown; #VALUE). Now the formulas also work properly.

FPS-11349

Clausion FPM Web Client: A ManualEntry row is created from AutoCalculations row if account statement rows are opened and template is saved

Previously while saving an input sheet with automatic entry it created an additional row with manual entry.
This entry was added while performing calculations and saving, that is, a new entry was added with InputType as "ManualEntry".
This has been fixed, and the addition of a new manual entry is restricted while saving the input sheet with automatic entry without making the cell dirty.

FPS-11215

Clausion FPM Web Client: Drill down does not work correctly if there is error on that row

Drill down to data or account are working as expected in Clausion FPM Web Client. User can open drill down sheets on the rows including the ones having #DIV/0! error.

FPS-10601

Clausion FPM Web Client: Data saved by new user is not actually saved to the database

In Clausion Cloud environment with two server services, new user can save data from the FPM Web Client after adding the same (new user) in the FPM Desktop Client. Now there is no need to restart the server service and IIS to save data from the new user. The user can check the saved data by refreshing the template.

FPS-10348

User gets an Invalid URL error message when the unit is changed in the Selections menu

Earlier the user received an Invalid URL error message when changing the unit in the Selections menu on the opened report. Now in the Selections menu of the opened report user can switch units with different rights without getting any error or redirecting to the navigation screen.

FPS-10322

Clausion FPM Web Client: Invalid URL error occurs in opening of a template if default hierarchy is changed and default unit is top unit

Now user can change the hierarchy for dimension from selection and select any unit. No error appears when opening the template after changing the hierarchy and selecting any unit.

FPS-9469

Clausion FPM Web Client: Type 7 input sheet values are updated only after selecting browser's Refresh

After fixing the issue, when a user selects any document or update the selections, data will be visible for type 7 sheet without refreshing the browser window.

FPS-8246

Copying several UI blocks at once creates an error

Earlier when the user copied and saved several UI blocks simultaneously in the user interface, when deleting or adding it in the Role user interface management it gave an error. The problem has been resolved and now user can save and delete a user interface and add and remove it from the role user interface management without any error.

FPS-7591

Clausion FPM Web Client: Possibility to select one document in browser

Users can enter any number of document under document selection (within document range) whether it is appearing in the list or not. User can insert only numeric value in the upper limit and lower limit fields (a validation message appears if other than numeric value is inserted). The same functionality as in the Clausion FPM Desktop Client has been implemented in the Clausion FPM Web Client.

FPS-6432

Copy-paste from Excel spreadsheet not working properly in XBRL mapping screen

Earlier in the XBRL template mapping in FPM Web Client, copying of cell values from Excel did not behave as expected. The problem has been resolved and the user can easily copy and paste the value.

FPS-3200

Clausion FPM Web Client in Clausion Cloud: Several user sessions created and not removed when closing browser

User sessions in the web client in Clausion Cloud are removed when closing the browser and also logout functionality is working fine. Previously, the sessions were not removed. As a result, number of open sessions were incorrectly increasing.

Known Issues

Issue ID

Issue

Description

FPS-12070

Clausion FPM Web Client: Template task refresh does not work if user enters codes (does not use pop-up dialogues)

If user changes data type selection, and then enters, for example, unit or account codes to selections field (does not use pop-up dialogues), the template does not refresh. Instead the user is directed to the home page.

FPS-11493

Clausion FPM Web Client: Saving fails after zeroing periodized data

If the user has saved periodized amount to extra period (for example period 13 or ADD1), saving the template fails after periodized data is zeroed.

Issue appears only in Clausion FPM Web Client.

FPS-11136

Clausion DR updates all open workbooks

DR refreshes all the open workbooks when refresh option "Workbook" is selected and user selects to refresh. Only the active workbook should be refreshed.

FPS-9070

Clausion FPM Web Client does not give error message on entering data to internal account without using drilldown

Web Client does not give any error or warning message, when entering the data to account level for internal account, that can be inputted only using drill-down functionality (with counter unit information). Also saving functions gives no message, and the data does not get saved.

FPS-8265

Clausion FPM Web Client: Save to file option not working after drilldown by rows

Incorrect behavior of Save to file option after row drill down from report sheet.

FPS-7577

Clausion FPM Desktop Client: Import from Excel fails if template includes several types of data sheets

Data import from Excel file to a predefined input sheet fails if the template includes also sheet of "retrieve from data" type (as other entries sheet). Problem appears only in desktop client, not web client.

FPS-5046

Clausion FPM Web Client: Taxonomy import fails when network (UNC) path is given in the application server (XBRLTAXONOMY_PATH)

Importing the taxonomy works for all browsers, if the taxonomy storage folder (XBRLTAXONOMY_PATH) has been defined to the application server. With Firefox, the taxonomy import fails if trying to import to some other path (network UNC path). Clausion Cloud: taxonomy import succeeds, if uploaded to virtual machine (VM address given in the Parameters input sheet). Should be Storage instead.

FPS-4110

Clausion DR for FPM: DR tab is not added in certain cases

The configuration files have impact on addition of the DR tab. Special characters are not allowed in the file names.

FPS-3803

Unicode support for Cyrillic characters missing from Clausion FPM

Non-latin characters are not allowed in comment and input fields. They show incorrectly in Clausion FPM.
