Location: Years (task ID: FinYearMnt) and Periods (task ID: FinPerMnt)
The year and period management functions are available for users who have administrator rights.
Note! It is not recommended that several users use the same management function at the same time.
1.In the Years view, to add a new year, click 2.In the Add New Year pop-up window, type an ID for the year in the ID field, and click OK. 3.Under Year Details, add a name for the year in all languages used in your system. New years are automatically connected to all available periods. To change a year's place in the list, click the arrow buttons Note! When you add new years, the data structures are not created in the database when the changes are saved. Before any data can be entered to the new year, the database structure must be updated in the Database Management view. After updating the database structure, also the Clausion FPM server must be restarted. A year can be deleted only if it does not contain data. |
1.In the Periods view, to add a new period, click 2.In the Add New Period pop-up window, type an ID for the period in the ID field, and click OK. 3.Under Period Details, add a name for the period in all languages used in your system and select the Period type. oOpening period: The period is used for showing the opening balance for the year. oNormal period: The period is used as a normal period for the year. oExtra period: The period is used as an extra period which enables reporting sum account level data with full drill-down functionality. This is not possible if the data is saved to a data type extra field, as extra field data is not included in sum row calculation. In addition, because extra period data is included in currency conversion unlike data type extra field data, currency amounts can be reported in group currency. In other cases a numeric data type extra field is usually more appropriate than an extra period. For more information on data type extra fields, see Data Types. New periods are automatically connected to all available years. To change a period's place in the list, click the arrow buttons Note! Normal and extra periods cannot be mixed. Always add extra periods after normal periods. The content of the Period drop-down list in Basic Options and input and report templates depends on the task settings (for more information, refer to <listperiods> in Clausion Financial Performance Management User Interface Task Parameters). Note that opening periods and extra periods are not included in rolling templates. Note! When you add new periods, the data structures are not created in the database when the changes are saved. Before any data can be entered to the new period, the database structure must be updated in the Database Management view. After updating the database structure, also the Clausion FPM server must be restarted. Note! Do not change the period order after updating the database structure in the Database Management view. If you change the period order after the database structure has been created and data has been entered for the periods, inaccurate data will be shown for the periods. A period can be deleted only before the Database Management task has been executed after adding the period. |
