Recalculating input data may be required, for example, when exchange rates are updated after the data has been saved. Input data calculations also need to be run after importing unit amount data from external systems.
The IDCCALCULATEGROUPCURRENCY parameter setting defines whether input data calculations are run when the unit currency is the same as the group currency. The parameter setting can be defined using the Parameters custom template. The default value is 'true'.
Note! The 'false' value is not recommended, because after an internal data transfer or interface run, the calculation will not update the group amounts when euro is the unit currency.
With the Input Data Calculations (IDC) function, the calculations can be done on the server-side. Executing data calculations on the server-side is faster than running input template calculations, because templates are not processed for every combination.
1.On the Input Data Calculations (IDC) view, select the options for which you want to run the calculation (for example, year, data type, units).
•If you select a consolidation unit, all input units under it are processed, and with parameter setting AllowConsolidationInput=true, the consolidation unit itself is also processed. Depending on the task settings, it may be possible to select several units (by holding down the CTRL key). This setting is dimension-specific. Calculations are run for all units for which you have user rights.
•Period selection has effect only for document series type 6. The entries are created only for the selected period. To other existing document series types and existing entries in document series type 6, the period selection no effect. The calculations are always run for all periods (except locked periods).
Tip! You can save the task with the selected options to your Favourites: after selecting the options, click Save to Favourites. You can then start the calculations with the same options directly from your Favourites view.
2.Click Start Calculations. The Start Calculations dialogue box opens displaying the selected options.
3.Click Yes to start the calculations.
The status bar at the bottom of the window shows the progress of the calculations and displays a confirmation message when the calculations are ready. To view more information about ongoing or completed calculations, hold the mouse cursor on the text.
Other Clausion FPM client functions can be used while the calculations are running.
You can monitor the status of IDC calculations and delete log entries of calculations using the Input Data Calculations (IDC) Status custom template. You can limit the displayed data by filtering the columns (for instructions, refer to Customizing Input Template or Report Window in Clausion Financial Performance Management Input and Report User's Guide).
