Columns POSITION and PARENT may appear several times depending on in how many hierarchies and branches an account exists at the most. That is an account may have several parents. The columns are named, for example, PARENT 1, POSITION 1, PARENT 2, POSITION 2 to be able to map the position to the correct parent account.

The account import function is useful, for example, if the master account chart of the group or company is maintained in some other system (such as SAP). The master account chart must first be exported from the main system and transformed into a valid CSV or XML for importing to Clausion FPM (note that tools for the export are not provided with Clausion FPM).

The import function can also be used when the account chart is maintained in Clausion FPM, and changes are needed to account properties (for example, account names or account group) for several accounts. The account chart can be exported from Clausion FPM, changes can be made in Excel and only the changes can then be imported back to Clausion FPM instead of the whole account chart.

For the descriptions of the account properties and possible values, see Modifying Account Properties.
